We
are at the entrance of the underground which leads to the north
casemates.
They were built in 1827, under Charles X, to receive a "battery
of reverse shot" intended to protect the rear of the Fort.
In
1994, we began to restore these casemates, which were largely
collapsed. They are now open to the public.
They
will soon constitute a privileged exhibition structure for the
works of contemporary art that will be presented at the Fort
within the framework of the "road of contemporary art"
that connects France and Italy ...
